Situated in the heart of downtown Ellsworth on Center Street in Northern Antrim County. Banks Township Hall is about 15 minutes or less from East Jordan, Central Lake, and Charlevoix—making it an easily accessible venue for you and your guests.

Entire Building

The Banks Township Hall is the perfect setting for weddings, graduations, family reunions, and more. Built in the 1930s, the 3,000-square-foot main dining hall features rich woodwork, a vaulted ceiling, oversized windows, and original hardwood floors—blending elegance with rustic charm. Both the main hall and ground-level room are fully air-conditioned, ensuring year-round comfort for you and your guests.

The main hall can accommodate up to 180 guests and can be arranged with a variety of table layouts. Your rental also includes access to the smaller ground-level room, ideal for staging or additional activities, plus a fully equipped kitchen for convenient food preparation.

Ground-Level Room

The ground-level room at Banks Township Hall is a versatile, informal space—perfect for family gatherings, birthday parties, baby and bridal showers, and other small events. The kitchen was completely renovated in 2025, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. The room can be rented separately and comfortably accommodates up to 100 guests.

Rental Rates

Ground-Level Room

Resident Rate: $100/day
Nonresident Rate: $150/day

Entire Building

Resident Rate: $1,000/day
Nonresident Rate: $1,250/day
Includes access the day before your event, starting at noon
Add $100 for day-after cleanup (until noon)

Rental Policies

A security deposit of $500 is required for entire building rentals. This deposit is fully refundable, provided there is no damage to the halls during your rental. It will be returned to the renter after the halls have been inspected and found to be free of damage. Banks Township reserves the right to retain all or part of the deposit if any damages are found after the event.

For entire building rentals during cold weather, an additional $50 per day will be charged to cover heating costs.
